neem.art is a collection of historical art & artefacts from the Ottoman Empire
Carefully collected over decades with the help of experts across Turkiye, with special help from Phebus Müzayede, we know you will be just as fascinated by the pieces in this collection as we are.
Any of the pieces in the neem.art collection can be viewed at 48 hours’ notice, in the city (London or Istanbul) indicated on the item’s page. We look forward to seeing you soon!
We plan to introduce further pieces to the collection in future, subject to neem.art holders’ agreement through voting.
We do not pass on any administrative costs to the neem.art project, so when you visit the Kismet gallery, please buy a coffee, karak chai, art print (or all three!) to support us!
I kept returning to this moment in history – the final decades of the Ottoman world – because it felt unresolved. Here were scholars mapping continents, engineering railways, reconciling Sufi mysticism with Copernican astronomy. Historians know this era well – but somehow the wider world has passed it by.
